ALSATIAN'S ATTACK

THE HON. C. J. CARRINGTON ~~~ i (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 22. An active leader m the campaign to secure stricter control of Alsatian dogs, the Hon. C. J. Carrington, M.L.C., has been the victim of an attack by one of the breed. Mr. Carrington, who has sought to bring about legislation restricting Alsatians, visited a home at Avondale, and upon entering the front gate he was set upon by an Alsatian. The owner was not at home. The dog jumped at Mr. Carringtcn and knocked him down. The animal also attempted to bite Mr. Carrington, but a long muffler he was wearing protected him from the animal's purpose of biting his leg.

Mr. Carrington successfully fought the animal off and was able to leave the property without experiencing further danger.
