G. J. COLES, LTD.'S, PROFITS.
Subject to audit, net profit of G. J. Coles and Co., Ltd., Melbourne, for the twelve months ended June 30, 1935, after provision for State and Federal income taxes, amounts to £131,444, contrasting with £97,827 for the previous year. After payment of preference dividends at the rate of 8 per cent. per annum and ordinary dividends at the rate .of 10 per cent. per annum, plus a bonus of 2J per cent, distributed in April last, the balance available, including £866 brought forward from 1934, is £30,611, of which the directors propose transferring £30,000 to general reserve, leaving a balance to be carried forward of £611.
With a final dividend of 3J per cent. Australia Hotel Co., Ltd.. Sydney has raised the ordinary dividend for the year to 6£ per cent. This rate compares with 6 per cent, for the previous year, paid as to interim 21 per cent, and final 3£ per cent.
