KIRKCALDIE'S SALE 'ASTONISHING CROWDS ATTEND FIRST DAY. Long before 9 a.m. this morning, crowds had gathered to partake of \ks first day offerings at Kirkcaldie's Sr.'e. As anticipated the day's event was an unqualified success and in spite of the pressure of business and the enormous crowds to handle the day passed off as one of the momentous in the firm's history. Yet, in spite of the colossal amount of stock passed through our hands, there still remain thousands of bargains for thrifty shoppers. All shelves, fittings, racks, etc., will be replenished tonight ready for another day's clearance. We have aimed to make this Sale worthy of our Store so again tomorrow we shall be faced with the rush and bustle of attending to our thousands of customers.
