PROFESSIONAL SCULLING

TORONTO (Ontario), July 8. Bill Miller, United States professional sculling champion, defeated Bob Pearce, world champion, in a half-mile event at a regatta today. Pearce defeated Miller in a mile event.

The water was rough, and both scullers asked that no times be taken.

At a regatta on the Kaministikwia River on July 2 Miller defeated Pearce in a mile race and Pearce turned the tables in a three-mile race. It was announced on May 2 that the pair were to meet over one-mile and threemile courses at a regatta at Halifax between July 15 and July 22.
