THE PLUNKET BALL

"SPANISH REVELS' 1 ON ■ FRIDAY: 1'

One bf ; thertaj or •attractions in. "Wellington's winter race week is the'Plunket Ball, which will be held in the Town Hall on Friday. It is thus popular not only among Wellington citizens but among visitors, who find it a happy field for exchanging their contact with city friends. As usual, this year's ball is. a fancy dress occasion for those who enjoy the experience of getting out of themselves by getting into unaccustomed garb, and the general idea is to "go Spanish." But there is no compulsion about it, and there will be a great many people who will prefer to wear orthodox dress, and possibly fall to the temptation of procuring some little colourful ornament when they arrive.

The organisers have arranged for excellent music and the liberal supper for which the Plunket Ball is well known. There will be two special ballet performances, "Caprice Espagnole" and "Gipsy Ballet," in which a large number of Wellington girls will take part, and also some unannounced novelty events. '

Admission tickets, are on sale at the D.1.C., and carry the right to reserve seats in the gallery without charge; and seats at the cabaret tables on the main floor can also be reserved there.
