(By Telesraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July '9. "If they want a glass of milk they shout for it until they get it." This statement made last evening by a member of the New Zealand Hockey Association about members of the touring Indian hockey team seemed to sum up the opinions on the Indians' fondness for milk, tea, and breakfast's in bed. These members protested that the Indians should not be allowed to indulge their fancies at the expense of the association. The discussion was provoked when the statement of accounts prepared by the Wellington Hockey Association for the Indians' visit to Wellington was being discussed. The statement included items for "21 breakfasts" and for "morning teas" and "visitors." : '. ■ , . "We would not allow our own members to do this thing declared one member, "and we should not allow the Indians." It was suggested that if .the matter were mentioned to the Indians they would refrain from incurring large bills for extras. The chairman, closed the discussion by calling for the next business. THIRD TEST UMPIRES. A request from the Indian hockey team that one of its two managers be appointed an umpire for the third Test match at Auckland on July 20 was discussed in committee, and it was later reported that the following motion had been passed:,—"That the associa' tion regrets it is unable to depart from its previously declared policy of one umpire to be appointed by it and the other by the manager of the visiting team from among A grade New Zealand umpires." s A statement from the Wellington Association revealed that the gross takings from the second Test were £620. 11s Bd, of which the New Zealand Hockey Association's share, after paying taxes and expenses, would be £361-13s lid. 1"..' A grant of £10 10s was made to the New Zealand University Hockey Council towards equipping the team ,which the council is sending to Fiji, leaving Auckland oh August 20.
