MURDERED PARTY

AN AMERICAN CRIME

POLICE SEARCH DESERT

NEW YORK, June 26. Three hundred policemen are searching the' wild desert country of New Mexico for the bodies of four St. Louis residents. Mr. George Lorious and his wife and their neighbours, Mr. Albert Heberer and his wife, left their homes on May 22 for a trip to Hollywood in Mr. Lorious's motar-car. Between Albuquerque a>*3 Gallup, New Mexico, they were overtaken by another motor-car, the occupants of which forced them to stop, and then murdered them, the car being toppled over a precipice some distance away.

These facts have been pierced together by the State police, whose suspicions had been aroused by the disappearance of the four people from the highway. It is believed that the murderersescaped eastward, and probably reached New Orleans.
