PIGS AND POULTRY.

A marked increase in prices was noticeable at the weekly market sale of pigs conducted by the Dominion Auctioneering Company at Palmerston North on Saturday. A large yarding came forward and the prices were as follows:—Weaners, Us 6d to 13s 6d; slips, to 14s 6d; stores, 18s to 20s; porkers, 26s 6d to 36s 6d. Prices for poultry also showed an increase and realisations were as follows:—White hens, 2s 4d to 4s per pair; black hens, 4s 4d to 5s 6d; while cockerels, 3s 2d to 5s 6d; black cockerels, 4s 6d to 8s; ducks, 5s to 6s; pullets, 5s to 10s.
