"JUST A TRIP"

AUSTRALIAN AIRMEN Two of the men whose names have been linked to some, extent with the exploits of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and the late Mr. C. T. P. Ulm— Messrs. J. T. Pethybridge and R. Boulton —arrived by the Maunganui from Sydney today, en route to the United States. Latterly they have beea associated with the Kingsford Smith air school and services. They informed Press representatives that they are on no official, mission oil behalf of any individual or aviation company, but are simply going to look at "some real aeroplanes" in America. Asked whether they intended bringing back any machines from America, Mr. Pethybridge said that the ban had not been lifted in Australia against the importation of American aeroplanes.'

Beyond the trans-Tasman service, Mr. Pethybridge said he did not think Sir Charles Kingsford Smith had anybig projects in view at the moment. He- thought Sir Charles would be visiting New Zealand again shortly. While in America, added Mr. Pethybridge, he and Mr. Boulton intended visiting aeroplane factories, and on their .tour would probably go across the United States. They would be away four to five months, and proposed returning to Australia.
