ENTERING AIR FORCE
TWO' WELLINGTON PILOTS
Two Wellington candidates for shortservice commissions in the Royal Air Force, Messrs. A. Tipping and L. Leigh Hunt, have left for England. Each has recently qualified as a pilot of the Wellington Aero Club, and each,carries with him a recommendation from the Director of Air Services. Mr. Tipping, who was born at Hastings, is a son of .the late Mr. C. J. Tipping and Mrs. Tipping. He was educated-at Hastings and later at Wellington and Rongotai Colleges, and was president of. the Rongotai College Old Boys' Association from its inception until his resignation in order, to join the :Air Force. For some years Mr. Tipping has been employed by the National Bank of New Zealand. He is twenty-two years of age, and qualified for his pilot's' licence at Rongotai last October. 'Mr. Hunt, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Leigh Hunt, Hataitai, was bom in'l9l3, and was educated at Hataitai School and Wellington College, which he left to join Rongotai College. He took his licence last February.
