INTERESTING FOOTBALL

The match between Scottish Wanderers arid Onslow on Kelburn Parlc on Saturday was productive of good football by both teams. Onslow are congratulated on their improvea form. Territorially they were easily equal with their opponents. Their real weakness is that they do not make use ot their pace in front of goal. Still they are a young team, and this will come with practice. Scottish Wanderers played entertaining football, some of their combined movements being a treat to watch. The following were the teams:— Scottish Wanderers (yellow).—Cuthbert; Johnson, J. Cherrie- Law, A. Cherrie, Murray; Gray, Cullen, McKean, Jordan, Jupp. ' Onslow (green).—Guppy; Phillip, Briggs; Le Gal, Dalgleish, Kansome, Dougai, Leake, Wellwood, Blander, Fawthorpe. , . , , , v _ j Scottish Wanderers kicked oil, and took the ball into Onslow'sgoal,-wheie a corner was awarded them, wnicn proved ..resultless. From the kick-out Le Gal, Wellwood, and Leake combined in a nice passing bout, Wellwood testing Cuthbert with a .trimmer. The goalkeeper saved brilliantly- and returned the ball to midfield, where play remained for a considerable time Briggs at this juncture was .playing superbly at full-back, repeatedly breaking up-promising incursions bylne Yellows. secured ir> midfield, carried on nicely, then parted to Mander to Fawthorpe, who-crossed well to the right to Le Gal, who drove in hard mifsing his objective by inches. The next item of interest was a fieekick taken by Phillip, the goaliepaving difficulty in clearing. Sc°ttisli Wanderers now took a turn in the attack and pretty v play in which Muiray jSpp. Jordan" and Cullen participated culminated' in M« last-named player scoring.
