MIGHT FUTURE
OPINION ON FLAX INDUSTRY
(Special to the "Eveninn Post.") ' PALMERSTON N., This Day. The Chief Government Flax Grader (Mr. Wm. Petrie), when -paying a visit to Foxton this week, expressed the opinion that a very bright future was ahead of the flax industry and the sooner attention was given to the planting of selected t varieties of flax, the better. The swamps at present contained many different varieties, some good- and some . indifferent. Massey ■ College experiments had proved that a variety known as "ngara" cut and .stripped in > the ordinary way with excellent results, and it had been decided to plant a large area at Moutoa with this variety. There was no doubt about the superiority of the fibre.
