WOMAN SENT TO GAOL

(By, Telegraph —I'rcss Association.) AUCKLAND, July 5. , A woman, who admitted that she stole small quantities of foodstuffs from a city store every Friday night for three months appeared in the Magistrate's Court. She was Freda Griffiths, aged 25, married.

"The accused has had leniency extended to her on two previous occasions, and thinks it will continue for the rest of her life," remarked the Magistrate. "She has been stealing for several months, and has been making a habit of it."

The accused was sentenced to twentyone days' imprisonment for theft of foodstuffs and to fourteen days' imprisonment for stealing gloves.
