COST OF ELECTRICITY
(To tho Editor.)
Sir,—-If the remarks of Mr.. J. W. Andrews at the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board's meetings and elsewhere regarding the lack of consideration for the interests of the consumers, are of a substantial nature, it would appear that some steps, may have to be taken to form a consumers' protection association, or to nave an inspector appointed by the consumers on'the same principle as applies to the appointment of a company auditor, whose duty it would be to check upon the' Power Board's activities regarding service, etc.,
1 To the writer it is somewhat ironical to think that we generate our electricity by the use of water power, and yet it is such a costly commodity (if it can be called such) to utilise, resulting in people being almost afraid to use it. Time and again one hears people remark that they could, not afford to run an electric stove or liqtwater cylinder. Now, surely, this should not be so. Yet, from personal experience, there is certainly much to be desired so far as service and cost are concerned. —I am, etc., WM. HEGGIE..
