WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS
Although entries for all classes in the Wellington Competitions Society's 1935 Festival closed on Friday, it is not possible yet to give an exact total of entries received, as many postal entries from outside districts have still to come in. Up to Friday, last year's total had been passed, and it is anticipated that this year's figures will be a record for the society. All classes are well represented, both in the senior and junior sections, and competitors from as far north as Auckland and as far south as Invercargill have entered.. A number of entries have been received for the church choir contests, and also for the school choirs. The new classes included this year, ten minutes of. magic, whistling solo, one-act plays, and twenty minutes' variety entertainments, have brought good entries. The excutive of the society is well pleased with the response.
