INDIAN TEAM'S RECORD
Arriving in Wellington from overseas on May 13,. the Indian hockey representatives , met their first match
engagement two days later at Dannevirke and they have been kept on the move evejr since. In six and a hall weeks they have had nineteen fixtures,: one of which was abandoned, and in spite of that strenuous time they had built up an amazing record of successes before meeting New Zealand today in the second Test. In the eighteen matches played before today's Test the visitors, winning all, had scored 230 goals and only 10 had been scored against them. The Indian team's New Zealand record is as follows:— v. Pannevirke, won. 21-0. v. Hawke's Bay, won, 17-0. v. Poverty Bay, won, 11-0. j . v. Wairoa, won, 18-1. I v. Bush District, won, 6-0. v. Wanganui, won, 18-0. v. Manawatu, won, 22-2. j v. Horowhenua, won, 16-0. v. Wellington, won, 10-1. v. Canterbury, won, 5-2. , i v. South Canterbury, won, 12-0. v. Otago, won, 17-0. v. North Otago, won, 16-I.' v. Gore, match abandoned. v. Southland, won, 13-1. v. Mid-Canterbury, jvon, 11-0. v. New Zealand (first Test), won, 4-2. v. West Coast, won, 13-0. v. New Zealand (second Test), won, 3-2. In continuation of their strenuous tour, the Indian hockey visitors have the following engagements to fulfil:— July 2—v. Nelson, at Nelson. July 4 —v. Taranaki, at Eltham. July 6—v. Waikato, at Hamilton. July 10—v. Piako, at Te Ardha. • July 11—v. Waipa, at Te Awamutu. July 13 —v. Auckland, at Auckland. July 17 —v. Rodney, at Warkworth. July 20—y. New Zealand (third •Test), at Auckland. July 22—v. Thames. The visitors will leave Wellington tonight for Nelson, where they will play a Nelson representative team on Tues-' day. They will return to Wellington on Wednesday to continue their North Island tour.
