OIL-STOKE WORKERS

AGREEMENT REACHED

I'■ A' full agreement was reached yesterday in the dispute tfetween the oilstore workers and a number of cited oil companies, and the recommendation of the Conciliation Council, over which Mr. P. Hally presided, was that the new award should operate from Friday, July 5, 1935, for the period of one year. An increase of 5 per cent. was agreed to for permanent workers, and Id per hour for casual workers, these increases to* extend to watchmen. An annual .holiday is to be granted to permanent workers on full pay. Tea money has been increased from Is to Is 3d. A shift clause was agreed to, wages being increased from £4 5s to £4 9s 3d. In other respects the provisions of the present award are to continue. ' .
