THEFT CHARGES

HASTINGS, This Day.
Koland Scott Barker, aged 23, who pleaded guilty in the Hastings Magistrate's Court yesterday to two charges of breaking and entering and theft, also admitted theft at Koroldpo, and was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence on the three charges. He was sentenced to,seven days' imprisonment on, a charge of stealing benzine. William James Tait, aged 25, who was committed for trial on breaking and entering and theft charges, was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment on each of two charges of stealing benzine. Arising from the theft charges, Charlotte Anne Barker, mother of the accused Barker, pleaded guilty to receiving goods knowing them to have been stolen. She was admitted to probation for two years.
