Tributes to the 1- memory of prominent members of the dairy industry who had died during the past year were paid by"the president (Mr. A. Morton), Egmont Village, before business was commenced at the national dairy conference yesterday. Mr. Morton referred first to the late Mr. Dynes Fulton, whose activities in connection with the industry, he said, had been very wide. Mr. Fulton had been an exceedingly active man, one who had 'a broad and long view and vas able to exercise a very sound judgment upon all matters that came under his notice.. His loss to the industry was a great one, and there was a distinct feeling in the industry that his place would be difficult to fill. I Another; very prominent man who had passed away, said Mr. Morton, was Mr. J. R. Corrigan, of Hawera, who in the years gone by had occupied almost as prominent a place as Mr. Fulton. ■ Mr. Corrigan had devoted a very large part of his time to the industry. He was a man who never tired. '"■ .. . Mr. Morton also referred to the deaths of Mr. J. Lane, chairman of the Whangaroa Dairy Co., North Auckland, and Mr. Jacob Marx, chairman of tile Mangatoki,-Dairy Comnany. The meeting stood in silence for a few seconds:as: a mark of respect.
