THE CREW SAFE
The following message was received this morning by the Director-General (Mr. G. McNamara), Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington, from the Postmaster, Kaitaia:—
"Two-mast ketch •Mehongi, from Hokianga, ashore.in breakers at Ahipara Beach, opposite Keid's boarding-house. Sea very rough. Crew of two,.Messrs. J. W, Wray and'D. Wellington, safe ashore.. Vessel.lying.on sandy bottom. Salvage': operations are being attempted. Vessel was previously- Neva, of Jlokianga,' renamed Mehongi by present owners." v .'■■. '
