PENALTY FOR MURDER
EXECUTION OF PRICE
The execution of Charles William Price, who was sentenced to death at Napier for the murder of Evelyn' Mary Madden, will take place at Mount Crawford Prison at 8 a.m. on Thursday. The warrant for the execution1, signed by the Governor-General, reacjied the Sheriff (Mr. W. W. Samson) yesterday, and in the afternoon he went to Mount Crawford Prison and informed Price that the Executive Council had decided not to interfere with the, sentence of the Court. Price took the decision calmly, and made no comment.
