The judges of the butter exhibits at the Manawatu Winter Show state that generally the quality is of a high standard and difficulty was experienced in selecting the winners of the various classes. The exhibits on the whole are meritorious, though in some cases there were minor defects in flavour. The uniformity and general excellence of body, texture, colour, and salting demonstrate skilled workmanship by the makers of this phase of manufacture. An improvement is apparent regarding the ■ spreadability of butter.
