VARIOUS EVENTS

The Orphan Club spent an enjoyable evening at the Indoor Bowling Green. Many of the members were novices at the game, but soon got into ' their stride. Messrs, Herron and Begg made the necessary arrangements for the evening. " , •■ ' ■ ■ The iriter-club.match between the Victoria and Hataitai Bowling Clubs was played last week, six rinks representing each club. Hataitai won five of the six games. - The Indoor Bowling Badges were played for on Saturday afternoon* ■Lawrie's. rink being too good for the challengers. The holders were Bryce, Mason, Ricketts, and Lawrie (s),. and the challengers Recce, Parsons, Edwards, and Hart (s). The final score was 32-17.

Results of friendly games are:— Tonks, Inglis, Sands, Raven (s), 23; Coburn, Bilderbeck, Duncan, Castle (s), 16. Hamilton, Warner, O'Gormah, Burns (s), 27; Christenson, Black, Uliher, Dayman (s),- 17. Fownes, Whitelaw, Phillipps,: Warwick (s), 25; Hansen, Moult, Rodger, johnstone (s), 16.

■ Several games were played by the "Evening Post" Indoor Bowling Club. The Stars changed hands and the Len Blundell Buttons were retained by the holders in well-contested games.
