BRITAIN'S MOCK AIR RAID
LONDON, June 1,
Great Britain's first air raid blackout was conducted at 11.30 tonight. | when 130,000 inhabitants in the neighbouring towns of Chatham; Rochester, and Gillingham suddenly reverted to wartime conditions.
War aeroplanes flew over, sirens shrieked,, . and warning rockets soared.
One hundred square' miles, including Chatham dockyards, were thrown into darkness. The police ensured the voluntary observance of improvised regulations. ■
