TWO SENIOR GAMES
SEATOUN LEAD IN B DIVISION
NEW LIFE FOR MARIST
Only two First A Division Soccer matches were played on Saturday afternoon,, the other two in the series having been set down for this afternoon. Saturday's games were played on the Basin Reserve in the presence of a good crowd, considering the counter-attractions, and resulted in comfortable wins .for Waterside, who beat Diamond 5-2, and for Marist who beat Swifts 5-1.
Good contests were the order of the day in the First B Division championship competition. Technical Old Boys were distinctly unlucky not to have won from Scottish Wanderers, who drew with them 1-1. Seatoun beat Onslow by 7 goals to nil and so took first place on the championship table with 10 points. Scottish Wanderers are next with 9, followed by Technical with 8, and a game less played. It seems as if the issue in this devision will be fought out by these three teams, though Stop Out are handy. On Saturday the last-named team beat Rovers 4-2 and Island Bay ran away from Miramar Rangers to score an easy 4-0 win. Grounds generally were fast and the weather was perfect.
