WEDDINGS

PENBERTHY—CUNDY.

The wedding was solemnised recently at St. Peter's Church, Willis Street, of Mavis, third daughter of

Mr. and Mrs. A. Cundy, to Kenneth, only son of Mr. and Mrs. I* Penberthy, of Stratford, Taranaki. The Rev. T. Feilden Taylor officiated, and Mr. Gordon Short was at the organ.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a frock of magnolia satin, cut on classical lines, with a deep yoke of hand-made satin flowers and silver embroidery. The back of the bodice was slit to the waistline, and buttoned with tiny white satin buttons, and the sleeces were tight fitting, finishing well over, the hands. A spray of leaves and silver embroidery finished the train. The bride, wore silver sandals. Her embroidered tulle veil was caught to the head by a halo of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and maidenhair fern. '•."■..■■ ■-•:.■

The bridesmaids, Miss Ngaere Penberthy (chief) and Miss Doreen Cundy, sisters of the bride and. groom, wore fitting frocks of: green, .heavy, moss crepe, the skirt 'flaring; at ,'the Knees, and forming a short train. The bodice fell in folds from a semi-cir,cte of green flowers arid gold embroidery forming a high neck line. The full Raglan sleeves were slit from the'shoulders to below the elbows, andruched into a gold ring. They wore gold sandals and carried shower bouquets of gold roses and maidenhair fern. The haloes which formed their head-dress were of real flowers to tone with their bouquets.

The bridegrooiri was attended by Mr. Audley Harman, as best man, and Mr. Lindsay Clegg as groomsman. Mr. Frank Bulman was usher. As she left the church the bride was presented with a; horseshoe by her little niece, Doreen Oldfield.

The reception,, which was followed by a dance, was held at the Oddfellows' Hall, Clyde Quay. The many guests were received■: by the bride's mother, Mrs. Cundy, ■wearing a navy ensemble, hat Irimnted with white sprays, and carrying a posy of pink roses and autumn leaves'. She, was assisted by th 6 bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Penberthy, wearing a wine frock under a coat .of silver lame, and a wine velvet beret, her posy being of dark red roses to tone. ; '

The bride and, groom left later for the north, the bride wearing,a, brown tunic frock with brown;'hat and shoes.
