CHANGEABLE WEATHER
SOME RAIN AT TIMES
Special forecast for Wellington:—
Moderate to strong: ■ northwesterly winds. Weather mild and changeable, with a shower or two at times. Th 6 general forecast for the Dominion as a -whole, issued at noon today, is for northerly to westerly winds which will be moderate to strong generally and squally at times about and to the south of Cook Strait. The weather will be unsettled with rain at times in western districts from Taranaki southward and in the far south, but elsewhere it will be mainly fair to fine. Mild temperatures' may be expected. , .
The recent deep depression has passed to the south-west, but a series of westerly depressions is moving from the westward on to the South Island, while an anticyclone covers the northern part of the Tasman "Sea and the northern -part of New Zealand. Moderate strong northerly to westerly winds have prevailed and the weather generally has been changeable and squally. Rain has fallen at times, mainly in districts with a westerly aspect.
The weather in Auckland yesterday morning was cloudy and threatening, but the afternoon was fine and sunny. A 1 north-westerly breeze prevailed, but the weather this morning was calm and foggy. v
Wellington experienced a strong north-westerly wind all day and the weather was mostly cloudy. Although only a trace of rain was recorded at Kelburn, nine points fell in Lower Hutt. The wind has moderated since early this morning, and at.9 a.m. today the weather "was fine and clear.
Christchurch had mild and overcast weather yesterday with a fresh north•easterly wind. The weather was fine this morning with a light wind from the east.
Dunedin had a fine morning, but the afternoon was dull and threatening with a fresh north-easterly wind. This morning's weather was fine and clear with a light westerly, wind.
