BOOKMAKERS' RETURN

The reinstatement of bookmakers forms the subject of a recommendation by the committee of the Auckland Trotting Club to the N.ew Zealand Trotting Conference on the same lines as that recently sent by the Auckland Racing Club to the Racing Conference. The recommendation is to the effect that delegates to the annual meeting in July should be given an opportunity to discuss ' the question whether bookmakers should be permitted by law to operate on courses.
