SECESSION PLEA

WESTRALJA'S PLIGHT

COMMONWEALTH ABUSES

AGITATION IN LONDON

United Press Association—B.v Electric Tele-Erapb-i-Copyriulit. (Received M^-.y 30, 12.15 p.m.)

.LONDON, May 29. The Western Australia Secession

Delegation has issued a statement expressing disappointment at the Select Committee's repprt, stating that it fears that its adoption will occasion some resentment ijn Western Australia. The only inference to be taken from the Select.CommJlttee'sTeport, it states, is that net matte*- what injury or injustice is inflicted or what redress is attempted, no acgiion can be taken by the Imperial Parliament. The delegation is prepare^ to demonstrate that Western Australia.'s injuries were not the natural consequences of the State's entry into the Feiieration, but the result of Federal sfauses of the Constitution, the financial consequences of which have been \ttte impoverishment of many Western industries, the destruction o£ prosperity, and an impediment to tfye State's development. Western Australia's plea was that the Commonwealth's violation of the 1900 Act haid destroyed her sovereign powers. "We strongly feel," states the delegation, "that the Ijnperial Parliament should not adopt 'the report, but at least should receive the petition and investigate the serious indictments against the Commonwealth. Otherwise any future action wtust be decided by the Western Australian people."
