ANNUAL MEETING

In spite of the inclement weather there was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Wellington Caledonian Society last'night. In commenting on the annual report, • j G^ Lauchlan, chief of the society, said that gratifying progress had been made in eyery direction. "If we continue that progress there is no doubt that we will place the Wellington Society as the leading Caledonian Society m the Dominion," he said. The following officers were elected:— Chief, Mr. G. Lauchlan; directors, Mrs. W. A. Baudinet, Messrs. W. A. Baudinet, R. C. Butcher, W. A. Blair, D. Clark, W. Fraser, A. Kettles, G. Lauchlan, A. Milne, W. Marshall, A. McCune, J. D. McDonald, A. McWhinnie, M. Gray Nasmith, M. R. Price, J. Stirling, W. Smith, senr., and C. Stewart; secretary, Mr. M. Gray Nasmith; treasurer, Mr. W. A. Baudinet; social committee, Mesdames C. Stewart, W. A. Baudinet, D. Clark, E. G. Wright, J. Stirling, and A. McKay, and Messrs. C. Stewart, W. A. Baudinet, D. Clark, J. Stirling, W. A. Blair, and A. Milne. Officers elected by the pipe band are as follows:—Drum-major, Mr. M. R. Price; pipe-major, Mr. W. Fraser; pipesergeant, Mr. W. Smith; pipe-corporal, Mr. R. Currie; drum-sergeant, Mr. W. Meehan; drum-corporal, Mr. A. Hunter; assistant secretary, Mr. M. R. Price; delegates to band association, Messrs. Meehan, McWhinnie, and Hunter; delegates to pipe band centre, Messrs. Fraser, Smith, and Nasmith.
