TEAM TO VISIT JAPAN
UNIVERSITY PLANS
Having deferred the tour to Australia this year, the New Zealand jt/niversity Rugby Football Council is proceeding with negotiations for the jyisit of a New Zealand University team to Japan. As reported in '"J.he Post" some time ago, Mr. R. O. Martin, manager of the Australian University team which visited Japan, had been requested to pass on an invitation from Japan to the New Zealand University Rugby authorities. Although nothing lias been definitely decided upon, the University Council is hopeful of being able to send a team, and at last night's meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union's management committee the necessary permission was granted, subject to final arrangements being satisfactory to the New Zealand Rugby Union. The present; intention is that the team shall leave on December 20 and return, on March 15. REFEREES NOMINATED.
