PULL AGREEMENT
HAIRDRESSERS' DISPUTE
A complete agreement in.respect to the terms and conditions of the hairdressers' award was arrived at by the Conciliation Council yesterday. Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner,presided.' ; :'-: : " . ■ .
The wages agreed upon were as follows: —Journeymen, £4 7s 6d a week; casual labourers, 2s an hour, with; a minimum of three hours' continuous employment; improvers, 2s 6d a week increase above the existing rates. When1 two public holidays are observed in one week, the usual halfholiday in that week • will not be taken. Anniversary- pay is to be observed as a full holiday. The term of the award will be two years. If, during the currency of the award, a general order is made increasing wages, the increases agreed upon in conciliation are to be taken into account.
