MEAT SHIPMENTS TO BRITAIN
The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments from , Australia and South America to the United Kingdom during the first half of May were as follows: —Australia: Lamb, carcasses, 100; beef, quarters, 11,339. South America: Mutton, carcasses, 9421; lamb, carcasses, 50,907; beef (frozen), quarters, 438; chilled, quarters, 227,859. Amended figures for shipments from South America for the month of April are-as-follows:—Mut-ton, carcasses, 169,441&1amb, carcasses, 400.255; beqf '(frozen); quarters, 3176; chilled, quarters, 481,457. Included in the South-American figures for April are 241,556.carcasses:; of lamb and 161.617 carcasses* of mutton shipped from Patagonia.' The shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom for the first half of May were as fpllows:—Mutton, carcasses, 120,261; lamb, carcasses, 694,507; beef (frozen), quarters, 26,261; chilled, quarters, 1863.
