LABOUR'S COMMENT

"TO STEM RISING TIDE"

When asked to comment on the announcement the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. M. J. Savage) said he was not surprised. "I suppose it was only to be expected that such a thing should happen," he said. "At the same time it does seem strange that representatives of two parties which have occupied the stage in mortal combat for so long should have apparently come together so closely. Presumably it is for the purpose of attempting to stem the rising tide of Labour."
