' The Marlborougb. Raring Club holds its fixture' on Friday and Saturday nest. Faii-Jy good fields seem assured, and with the running at Nelson as a guide the prospects of a successful meeting appear to bo very; bright. The Union S.S. Company is conducting an excursion trip on Saturday to enable sportsmen to patronise the second.days racing at the Waterlea course, the Tamahine leaving Wellington at 7 a.m. and returning from x Picton at 7 p.m. The fare is 10s return. Special provision is being made for the entertainment of the visitors at the races and also for t!ios-->e who may be intent on visiting Blenheim and the surrounding district. The main event on Saturday at the Mavlborough races is the Waterlea Cup, a contest that is usually worth seeing. It has been won by many good horses in the paat.
