Time, I6min 20 l-ssec New South Wales led at the quartermile and thereafter fought the issue ■with Western Australia. South Australia were a close third. For a good two miles there was practically nothing between the two leading crews, and until the last quarter-mile South Australia were still within striking distance. The heavier New South Wales crew managed to draw away slightly m a final burst, but Western Australia fought gamely and the New South Wales crew were fully extended to Championship of Australia two miles and a half.—H.
