Turner (New South Wales) established a record performance by winning the Australian sculling championship for the fourth sue cessive yearJ The events were rowed on th« Nepean River at Penrith -in fine weather and good water. Results are as follows:— » King's Cup, three miles.—New South Wales 1, Western Australia 2, South Australia 3, Victoria'' 4, Tasmania 5 Queensland 6. Two-thirds, of a lengths four lengths. Time, I6min 20 l-ssec New South Wales led at the quartermile and thereafter fought the issue ■with Western Australia. South Australia were a close third. For a good two miles there was practically nothing between the two leading crews, and until the last quarter-mile South Australia were still within striking distance. The heavier New South Wales crew managed to draw away slightly m a final burst, but Western Australia fought gamely and the New South Wales crew were fully extended to Championship of Australia two miles and a half.—H.
