THE NEW REGULATION'S
_ Lmgi €ariglio, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Australia, <has. announced for pubEc information that the new regulations of the Government affect travellers;. He states that any Italian;subject, in possession: of a passport xf ta£ dVif S srjss^ money not exceeding ..2000 Italian liref the whole of this amount may be in Italian currency or partly Italian and partly foreign. In, the event of an intending traveller reqmring1 an -amount in foreigH currency exceeding in value the above figure an application must be made to a bank or an agency, authorised to issue foreign i currencies, filling a special form in tnphcate, one copy of which -will be given.' to the ti:aveller to be .shown 1 sit the frontier station. In additidh,; on- this form will be also shown the,'amount of Italian lire carried by the traveller, which must not exceed the 2000 lire/ Foreign subjects cannot take out'from' Italy an amount exceeding 2000 lire in Italian currency, but if they were already m. possession of a higher amount when entenngltaly, there is no limitation whatever. But the foreign visitor should when entering Italy, declare the amount of Italian money in his possession, and have it registered on his passport. To make the position quite clear,1 there is no restriction whatever.- in - regard to the amount .of foreign currency .a traveller can take- into, Italy and 'again take but on his departure. Should anybody abroad be in possession of Italian notes o£-500or 1000 lires each,; on. Satisfying, the" banks ot their bona fide ownership they may get them, changed, withoutf any difficuliy.
