VALPEEN'S PROGRAMME

GREAT NORTHERN DOUBLE ?

The gallop Valpeen had on the second day of the 'A.R.C. Autumn Meeting, when he ran second to. Ruby Meteor in the open steeplechase, sharpened him up, and he is now in splendid condition. He looks a : much better horse than at this time last year, and despite his weight he should give a good account of himself. Present intentions are that he is to be sent for the Great Northern double; in fact, his training is for the hurdles. However, Valpeen. is engaged on trie first d W of the Te Kuiti Meeting in the steeplechase only and the same programme has been tollowed for the second day. It is more than likely that Valpeen will start m both big jumping events at Ellerslie; the hurdles on the. first day and the steeplechase on. the second dayj
