"Another important feature of this development," said the Minister,'"is that work can begin immediately and will give employment on full time for between 60 and 70 men. The approximate expenditure involved is £45,000, andin viey <if its -importance in assisting to relieve the unemployment ".posir tion, the Unemployment Board is pro± viding a portion of the money rei quired. There are nearly 2000" acres of land at present being irrigated'un^ derthe scheme,'whibh is supplying 44 holdings;, and this extension will give an asiiured supply of water during the dry seasons and also enable the irrigated area to> be increased." ,
