PRINCIPAL MAGISTRATE AT

WELLINGTON

The position of principal magistrate at Wellington, consequent upon the elevation of Mr. E. Page, S.M., to the position of Judge of the Court of Arbitration, has been allotted to Mr. Edward Darker Mosley, for some years a Stipendiary Magistrate at Christchurch. '. . . Mr. Mosley was born in Otago in 1876. He was admitted as a barrister in 1897 by the late Mr. Justice Denniston. From 1907 to 1918 he practised his profession at Christchurch in partnership with Mr. J. W. C. Smithson. In 1918 he was appointed to the Magistracy, taking up duties at Thames. Later he was stationed at Gore and Timaru, and for the last eight and a half years he has been second magistrate at Christchurch. The Minister of Justice (the Hon. J. G. Cobbe) stated today that arrangements were being made for Mr. Mosley to take up his new duties immediately.
