NEW RECTOR

ST. PATRICK'S COLLEGE

FATHER A. LYSAGHT, S.M

Immediately following the golden jubilee celebrations of St. Patrick's College, Wellington, comes the appointment of the Very Rev. A. Lysaght, S.M., 8.A., as Rector of the college. The retiring Rector, the Very Rev. A. J. Cullen, S.M., B.Sc, is resigning on the counsel of his medical advisers because of grave trouble with his. left eye. He leaves St. Patrick's to take up work which will not hold for his eyesight the danger involved in the duties of a college principal. Father Cullen's eye trouble became serious some little time ago, but at the request of his Superiors he remained in charge of St. Patrick's College for the jubilee celebrations. The Very Rev. Father Lysaght is an old boy of St. Patrick's. He was ordained a priest in 1924 and has had teaching experience at his old school and at Blessed Peter Chanel's College •in New South Wales. He is a graduate of Victoria University College, and also studied at the University of Queensland.
