ACQUITTAL OF MAZZARDO

(Received April 27, noon.) LONDON, April 26. In connection with the acquittal yesterday of the three men charged with the theft of £20,000 worth of gold from the Croydon Airport, the Recorder pointed out that there was no evidence as to the identification of Silvia Mazzardo. The witness Manson, who took ihe men to Croydon at 5 a.m. on the day of the robbery, has now sworn that1 Mazzardo was not in the taxi. The gold was stolen' on March 2 while awaiting transit by aeroplane to France. At the Police Court proceedings Manson was treated as hostile under cross-examination.
