GERMAN UNANIMITY

NEW PRESS LAW ISSUED

OUSTING OPPONENTS

United Press Association—By Electric Tola-

srapti— CopyrlsUt.

BERLIN, April 25.

Herr H. Ammann, the Nazis' Press chief, has promulgated a law which is expected to eliminate all Nazism's newspaper opponents, ending the embittered struggle which has continued since the Nazis gained power. It compels all newspaper publishers to register the names of persons interested in those newspapers and tho amount of their share. Also proof is required whether their ■ origin is Aryan as far back as 1800, which is more sweeping than the. Aryan test for officials. The law also prevents the publication of newspapers by joint stock concerns, and co-operative, public, professional, or class organisations, although Nazi party nominees are excluded from these provisions. This means the disappearance of Catholic newspapers unless they are exempted by Herr Ammann, who is now Press dictator empowered summarily to dismiss editors and employees. The newspapers are being permitted six months in which to comply.
