SOAP AND CANDLE PROFITS.
The net results from the year' 4 operations show » profit of £1291 14s 2d. states the report to be presented, to shareholders in the Zealandia Soap, Candle, and Trading Co., Ltd. With the amount of £120 3s Id brought forward there is a balance of £1411 17s 3d at the credit of the appropriation account. The directors propose that a dividend of 3 per cent, be distributed, absorbing £1125, and that the balance of £287 17s 3d be carried forward. The report states that trading conditions have again been very difficult, but .by consistent advertising and the establishment of further new products, production and turnover lias been more than maintained. Plant and " machinery has been 'maintained in a full state of efficiency, and adequate provision made for depreciation. The balance-sheet is as follows:—Liabilities— Capital, £37,500; reserve accounts, £25,135; sundry creditors and reserve for income tax, £2305; profit and loss and appropriation accounts, £.1412. Assets; Land . and buildings, .£25,458; . plant and machinery, £13,035; furniture and fittings, £109; cash, £2709; investments, stocks, . etc., . £5286; sundry debtors and stocks .in hand, £19,174.
