(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, April 23. More than two thousand local authorities in Britain are, completing their preparations for next month's Silver Jubilee celebrations. In most cases the local counties have voted funds for decorations and illuminations. , Bonfires, processions, > and treats for young and old, in addition, to the holding of thanksgiving services, are to be features common to most of the local celebrations. . It is, however, certain that major spectacles, including the Royal pro^ cession and the processional drives, will bring numbers pf sightseers to London, and most elaborate arrange* ments have been made for the orderly handling of the crowds. All along, the routes of the main procession platforms have now been erected on every available site to pylons draped in .blue.and gold, and surmounted by the Royal emblems. Elsewhere schemes for the decora* tion of streets and buildings are beingrapidly advanced. ' Among distinguished visitors to London for the occasion the Dominion Prime Ministers will take-a prominent place. The Prime Minister of Australia is already here. Mr. R. B. Ben-. nett, Prime Minister of Canada, General Hertzog, Prime Minister of South Africa, and In G, W. Forbes, Prime Minister of New Zealand, will «rrive within,4he next few days. , ; Some of the many Indian rulers, who will take part in the celebrations in London, have already arrived, and ( others are on* their' way to England.
