FIRE OUTBREAKS
TEN IN ONE HOUSE ,

AUCKLAND, April 22
Ten distinct outbreaks of fire in a two-storeyed house at Victoria Street West, Freeman's Bay, presented an unusual problem to fire brigadesmen this afternoon, andl were later the subject oi an investigation by detectives. Four engines were quickly on the scene, and the flames, which had a firm hold on bedding, curtains; and wallpaper in various rooms, were extinguished before extensive damage had been caused. Two men in the house were unharmed.
The damage, although general throughout the house, .was not extensive. Only one room; escaped entirely, but the prompt work of the brigade resulted in a minimum of damage 1o the rest of, the houge.
