JAPANESE MOTOR TRADE.
Motor-cars were first imported into Japan about 1902, and at the time of the late war they had become popular. Immediately after the great earthquake in Tokio roads and highways were greatly improved all over the country, and this encouraged the greater use of automobiles. In 1024 the automobiles in use had increased over the previous year by S3 per cent., but thereafter the percentace increase, year by year has gradually dwindled; in August of 1933 thn number of automobiles in Japan numbered 106,788, an increase of 3 per cent, on ths total a year' before.
