BOY'S DEATH FROM INJURIES

A DRIVER ARRESTED

DUNEDIN, April 21,

An accident which resulted in the death of a five-year-old boy, Arnold Healey, who lived with his parents at 23 Shortland Street, Caversham, occurred on Saturday afternoon at the corner of Marion and David Streets.

A motor-lorry avoiding, a collision with a motor-car swerved on to the footpath and struck the boy, who was talien to hospital at 4.40 p.m. suffering from extensive injuries to his head and body from which he succumbed at 2.30 this morning.

\ A collision between a motor-car, and a cycle in which Ronald Erridge, aged 13, received serious head injuries, occurred at the junction of the Octagon and Lower Stuart Street at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. The car, which was driven by Edward Richard Quin, struck the boy and carried him across the road, where he was jammed against a stationary' motor-cycle. He was taken to hospital in a precarious condition, and today showed no improvement. The driver of the car was arrested. '
