Putting the Shot.—Boyes (0.U.), 1; Maskell (0.U.), 2; McGregor (C.U.C.), 3. Distance, 33ft sin. Long Jump.—Hackett (A.U.C.), 1; Prendergast (A.U.C.), 2; Tiffin (C.U.C.), 3. . Distance 20ft 2in. One Mile.—Boot (C.U.C.), 1; Robinson (C.U.C.), 2; Johnston (A.U.C.), 3. Half a yard. Time, 4min 40sec. 120 Yards Hurdles.—First heat: McDonald (0.U.), 1; Benham (C.U.C.), 2; Bowie (V.U.C.), 3. Won by a yard. Time,il9 l-ssec. Second heat: Milner (C.U.C.), 1; Kolderness (V.U.C.), 2; Young (0.U.), 3. Won by two yards. Time, 16 4-ssec. The shooting contest was decided on each of the home ranges, and was won by Otago, with Canterbury second • BASKETBALL. Canterbury 6, Victoria 4. Auckland 10, Otago 6. Auckland 19, Victoria 3. When a Moravian manufacturer went to inspect the villa he was having built not a trace of it was to be found. While building operations were held up until the owner's return thieves had removed the building 'brick by bricls, working at night.
