Over two hundred representatives of the three northern- universities arrived on Thursday to take part in, the interuniversity tournament. -..:..-
The annual meeting of the Ndw Zealand Students' Association opened yesterday, Mr. Maurice Joel presiding. It was announced that the triennial contest for the Bledisloe Medal for oratory should be held in Dunedin this year; and the date was tentatively fixed as' July 19. It was agreed to pay one third of the travelling expenses of the participants.
The Government Railways Board will leave Wellington on April 30 to make an inspection of the Stratford-Ohahiikura and Paerpa-Taneatua railways. Local features relevant to .the operation of the lines will be studied and the board is. willing to meet representatives of local bodies who wish to place their views before it informally, but no public functions are desired. : - ■•' ■-•' ■• ■
